(37 1/2 Ounces), executed in a Classic Design with curved edge decoration - Maker & Age: made in Paris by Gustave Keller in the last quarter of the 19th Century - Condition: light signs of use, including some scratches and minor dents, otherwise good, nice age patina - Assay Marks: Head of Minerva 1 (for 950 Silver), Makers Mark (Head of Mercury + GK) & additionally marked "G. Provenance: The property of an Aristocratic Family of European Diplomats from St. Petersburg, who lived in Paris for some time of the year. After the Russian revolution they moved to Paris and later they stayed in Frankfurt, Germany. Both pieces are bearing the Family Sign.

The 950 Silver Standard was used in French only for the more expensive items, especially for Hollowware of well known makers. For flatware for example the more common (and more hard) 800 Silver was mostly used.
