Provenance: from a wealthy family in the Mittelweg of Hamburg - a prime
residential area near the Binnenalster lake in the center of the town - comparable
with eg. Knightsbridge in London or the Park Avenue in New York.

Designer Karl Wahl of Bruckmann introduced in 1922 a similar pierced bowl model no. 12503 for the Deutsche Gewerbeschau exhibition in Munich - as stated and illustrated in the reference book about Bruckmann.
