We are looking for works by:

Artist:
Askew, John (British, fl. 1790-1810) - Oilpaintings on canvas
Place:
Worked in Tynemouth, Great Britain.
Motifs:
Ship Portraits, Seascapes and Harbor Scenes.
Prices:
Rarely offered, his works usually start at BP 1,800-2,000 but prices depend on subject, size, date, quality and condition. Please send us an e-mail to receive an offer for your work by this artist (free of charge for persons considering to sell their painting).
Notes:
Askew is a typical example of an early English artist, who worked in the tradition of the 18th century. The ships are usually shown in two or even three positions with a dark water section in the foreground. Additionally his compositions often include a topographical view of the harbor Tynemouth or Orfordness. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can be found also in our books "Ship Portrait Artists" and "World Register of Ship Portraits Edition 1999/2000" (coming in spring 1999).

The FineArtEmporium is interested in the direct purchase of fine works by this artist and can pay a good price. Please refer to our page "Contact" and send an e-mail to bais@gmx.de with the information requested there. You will receive an answer usually within 48-72 hours (up to a week in rare cases).
