We are looking for works by:

Askew, John (British, fl. 1790-1810) - Oilpaintings on canvas
Worked in Tynemouth, Great Britain.

Askew is a typical example of an early English artist, who worked in the tradition of the 18th century. Additionally his compositions often include a topographical view of the harbor Tynemouth or Orfordness. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can be found also in our books "Ship Portrait Artists" and "World Register of Ship Portraits Edition 1999/2000" (coming in spring 1999).
