Notes:
Cammillieri was one of the leading ship portrait artists in Marseilles during that period. In his watercolors he combined an accurate drawing of the ship with good artistic performance, executing the waves in a smooth manner. He often added a view of Marseilles with the fort in the background. Sometimes the works of the later Nicolas S. Cammillieri are confused with his works. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our books "Ship Portrait Artists".
