A typical pierhead painter of Naples, who was apparently a relative of Nicola Funno. While the drawing of the ship is accurate the background is often somewhat formalized and a little naive. Sometimes he did also sign "Michele Fondo" and some works are unsigned as well. Information about this artist can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists". |
