Notes:
|
Grandin painted in oil on canvas and made watercolors on paper. For his watercolors he fortunately used good materials, therefore his pictures were hardly affected by the ageing process. The ship is usually shown under full sail with only a small coastline in the distance and sometimes a steamer is added. The signature (Eug. Grandin) is especially at his watercolors often microscopically small and very accurate. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists". |
