Art Wanted: Sell your 19th Century Ship Portrait

We are looking for works by:

Artist:
Grandin, Eugene (French, fl. 1857-1909) - Watercolours, Gouaches and a few Oilpaintings on canvas
Place:
Worked and lived in Le Havre, France
Motifs:
Ship Portraits of Sailing Vessels and occasionally also of Steamers.
Prices:
Watercolours starting at Euro 300 (Continental Europe). Prices depend on subject, size, date, quality and condition. Please send us an e-mail to receive an exact offer for your painting (free of charge for persons considering to sell their painting).
Notes:
Grandin painted in oil on canvas and made watercolors on paper. For his watercolors he fortunately used good materials, therefore his pictures were hardly affected by the ageing process. The ship is usually shown under full sail with only a small coastline in the distance and sometimes a steamer is added. The signature (Eug. Grandin) is especially at his watercolors often microscopically small and very accurate. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists".
Contact:

Ship Portrait of the American Bark "Fanny?" off Le Havre (France), 1865 - the vessel is shown as entering the port of Le Havre at fair weather, a steamer beyond - Watercolor on paper, 16 x 23 cm (6 1/4 by 9 inch) with frame 28 x 33 cm (11 x 13 inch) - signed and dated "Eug. Grandin, Havre 1865" - in the original mounting (gilted wood) and frame - picture is in good condition - Private Collection - * Show me larger color illustrations *

Note: A very detailled executed French ship portrait of this American barque. There is evidence that there were two Eugene Grandin doing such ship portraits of a similar style in Le Havre: An earlier one (father?) in the late 1850s until the 1870s and a later one (son?) in the 1880, 1890s and until ca. 1909. Both signed Eugene Grandin, but style and signature is a little different. This is a work by the older Grandin or an early work by the artist (if it was one).
