Harris was a seafarer from 1828-35 and therefore knew the ships and their construction by heart. As a marine artist he was trained by George Chambers and created several fine seascapes and maritime genre scenes. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists". |
