Huggins was a seafarer of the East India Company and started his artistic career in 1815. He created magnificent portraits of the East India Company´s sailing vessels, using a well balanced composition with numerous other shipping and a coastline in the background. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists". |
