Mevius, Hermann (German, 1820-1864) - Oilpaintings on canvas, rarely also Watercolors and Gouaches
Place:
Lived and worked in Düsseldorf (Germany).
Motifs:
Marine Art and Seascapes, Coastal and Harbor Scenes, Shipwrecks, Fisherman, Landscapes from Germany and Europe
Prices:

Notes:
Hermann Mevius is a less known German marine and landscape painter of the Düsseldorf School. He travelled as an artist to the shores of Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy. Form 1844 on he exhibited in Berlin, other places in Germany and in Antwerp. In 1855 he was represented on the World Exhibition in Paris. His short life limited his Oeuvre and there can not often paintings been found on the art market. He signed his works "H.Mevius", unsigned works are not known to us.
