Notes:
Ogilvy used to portray mainly local pilot schooners, British merchant sailing vessels or steamers. He had a tendency to use a warm palette, preferring yellow or light red colours in the sky section. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists".

*Rathfern* 1874 – The English iron full–rigged Ship under sail at sea with other shipping in the distance – 51 x 76 cm – signed and dated

*St. Joseph* 1867 – The large American Clipper off a coastline with other shipping in the distance – 60 x 90 cm – with the original bill of sale - Private Collection in the United States of America
