Born in Hamburg, but lived in Copenhagen, Denmark and Trieste, Italy.
Ship Portraits and Seascapes in the tradition of the Eckersberg School

During his Copenhagen years from 1832 until 1844 he received some art training by Eckersberg. He later worked as an instructor for ship construction in Trieste and produced a very limited numer of seascapes and ship portraits.
