Art Wanted: Sell your 19th Century Ship Portrait

We are looking for works by:

Artist:
Dahl, Jorgen Hagebart Esbern (Danish, 1825-1890) - Oilpaintings on canvas and a few Gouaches
Place:
Worked and lived in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Motifs:
Ship Portraits of Sailing Vessels and Steamers, often with one of the three backgrounds mentioned above.
Prices:
Oilpaintings (on canvas) are starting at Euro 800 (Continental Europe), gouache pictures (on paper) also less. A large oilpainting can also be worth some thousand Euros conditional on what is on it and how it looks like. As with all marine paintings prices depend very much on subject, size, date, quality and condition. Please send us an e-mail to receive an exact offer for your painting (free of charge for persons considering to sell their painting).
Notes:
Being a seafarer before, he seriously started his career as a ship portrait artist in 1876 in Copenhagen. His sophisticated style includes an accurate view of the ship and an accomplished handling of the sea. He used to show landmarks in the background, e.g. Skagen with the lighthouse, Kronborg Castle or the Cliffs of Dover. His output was limited to less than 1000 paintings. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists".
