Place:
Worked and lived mainly in Antwerp, Belgium.
Motifs:
Ship Portraits of Sailing Vessels and Steamers, a few Seascapes.
Prices:
His Ship Portraits are starting at Euro 1.000 (Continental Europe) or BP 700 (Great Britian) or $ 1,200 (in the USA). Prices depend on subject, size, date, quality and condition. Please send us an e-mail to receive an exact offer for your painting (free of charge for persons considering to sell their painting).
Notes:
Mohrmann was born in San Francisco, but after an earlier career as a sailor, theatre painter and restorer he moved to Antwerp to begin with his work as a ship portrait artist. He was successful from the beginning and portrayed the larger Overseas Merchant Steamers, Passenger Liners and Sailing Vessels. A special feature of his paintings is that the ship is often shown driving a little inclined towards the viewer, which enabled Mohrmann to show more of the ship´s details and not only its silhouette. Information about the artist and his oeuvre can also be found in our book "Ship Portrait Artists".
