Hellmann* in the Atlantic Sea ca. 1900 - the steamer with auxiliary sails set on the high Sea, another vessel in the distance - signed lower left "T.G. Purvis, London" and inscribed in the center water section as shown above - Oil on canvas, 50 by 72 cm (19 3/4 by 28 inch) - good condition and in the original frame - Private Collection Northern Germany

Note: From the house flag and funnel ensign we learn that this steamer belonged to the fleet of the Flensburg shipping company E. Schuldt, which is today located in Hamburg.
