He used to portray the ship in one position at the open sea, the ship´s and captain´s name is usually mentioned in the water section along the bottom. He received commissions by captains of all European nations and was a very productive painter indeed. Most of his clients came from Great Britain and Germany and some from other European countries including Scandinavia. All of his works are signed, we did not notice unsigned works so far.
